This is my first shared dream.
I am in the car, an old black man is driving. I think he is my grandpa's best friend even though I've never seen him before, I've got this familiar feeling about him. We are going somewhere, I don't know where that is but I am excited to arrive. It's early in the morning, we are driving on an open road. The fog is covering the field surrounding us. There are no trees, no houses and the sky is cloudy. Gloomy weather. I like that. Soon we reach the end of the road and I'm trying to enjoy what's left of it. I spotted the first tree, and then another one beside it, and then another one. We are crossing a bridge over a river as the sun rises and shines upon the trees, rays of light dancing playfully though the foggy drops of water flying around, making them shine. The sky is clear now, a slight shade of pinkish purple is starting to show up in the horizon. I feel pleased, the old man is also very comfortable with this journey. We did not spoke to each other, but silently communicate our feelings about it. As we get closer to the destination the sun is already up, just that it doesn't shine anymore. I am fascinated by the mighty sphere covered in darkness, like a magma bubble floating in the sky. Finally we get out of the road and end up somewhere in the back of a building, a white building. I assume it's some sort of monument since I don't see any entrance. We get out of the car and walk around the building, but I'm more concerned about the sun. The old man calms me down without saying a word, guiding my eyes upon a frozen lake. There is this frozen lake shining brighter than anything I've ever seen. As if the sun concentrated it's whole power into the lake, letting it light up the earth. I feel like they are connected somehow. Beside the lake there is this big city I've never seen on this planet. The buildings reflect the light in colors, tiny sparks of white light flying around the city. Me and the old man sit side by side, enjoying the view. I can see that he's entertained by my slightly confused look. The sun is darker than before, losing it's light. That is concerning me, but I can not be sad. The old man speaks, but his mouth never opened. I hear his voice from somewhere outside of him, somewhere inside myself, but not quite. "There is no reason to be concerned about it. There is a new beginning for everything.", he says. Right after that I find out that my grandfather has died. He's got cancer in real life. I feel no pain, I know that he is safe, I know that he left this world in peace. "I will miss him", I thought.
The sun is breaking free. The darkness is starting to fade, rays of light shining through the cracks. I am relieved. An old friend is waiting for me beside the old man. I am happy to see her! She doesn't look the same anymore, her face is different, her body is different, but I know it's her. We hug each other, laughing and joking. "What are you going to do with the rest of your life now?", she asks me. "I guess that this is my life now.", I answer and throw her a radiant smile. The three of us get in the car and continue our journey together...
I don't know what this is supposed to mean, but I've never had such a clear dream. I could even sense the time passing, although I knew it didn't affect me. I felt the urge to share this with someone, it really made me rethink my feelings.
