Autumn

Autumn

I am in a mountainous area, outside, with big boulders and rushing water in rivers. I think I’ve been there before in my dreams. Then, I am a passenger in a car, traveling on a road, and I realize that I am in Germany. For a second, I wonder if I am still up on the mountain, but then I realize I am traveling fast on an interstate. The mountain is in the distance. The feeling is very pleasant as I watch the road signs and look at the scenery, which is mostly pastures with some autumn trees and a beautiful forest up ahead. Some of the road signs are in English, but they don’t make sense in a transportation context. The only one I remember said, “15 seconds” or “15 secs”. I don’t know who is driving the car, but there’s a sense that the person is familiar.

I am thinking about how I’m going to call "T" and tell him how much I enjoyed my trip to Germany, but not that I’m there and coming to see him.

Then, we’re in a residential area, driving up a gentle hill. It is fall, and the trees are changing (yellow is the predominant color) and I’m reminding myself about how Germany isn’t that different than the Pacific Northwest in the fall.

The whole dream felt very vivid, very beautiful in a realistic natural sense, and very pleasant. I enjoyed it very much.

Christina, I love the appreciation and awe you have for Nature in this dream. When I think of Autumn I think of harvesting the fruits of my labor, maturity, and letting go. If this were my dream I would think about the ways I have matured on my life's journey and how I feel the years have gone by fast. I would ask myself, "How may I feel something is/things are changing and I don't understand the direction it is taking."

Christina, this makes me feel like life's obstacles (mountains) and emotional struggles (rivers) are behind me now and life is better, but change may be forthcoming.

Christina, thank you for sharing just a beautiful dream! If this were my dream, the foreign country would symbolize finding myself in new territory. I would relate this to either my waking life experience or my unconscious mind. Driving would symbolize for me my life's journey. I would notice how someone else is driving and has influence over where I am headed. I would ask myself, "what have I learned from this journey, and where am I headed now?"

Hi Christina! I like everyone's reflections on your dream so far. If this were my dream, I would think about what happened when I was 15. I would think about what happened 15 years ago, and what I want to do over the next 15 years. I would also think about what happened when I was 6 (1 + 5).
