About this Artwork:

Dream of 9/30/2010

I am in the basement doing laundry (it reminds me of the basement of the house I grew up in). The water in the washing machine isn’t turning off and it begins to overflow. I think I’ve put too many clothes in it. I take some out – water is dripping all over the floor. I’m afraid Dad will be mad at me because I’ve broken the washer. There are some clean, dry and folded clothes on top of the washer and dryer (socks, underwear, etc). I move them so they won’t get wet. I put them in a small, blue, toy shopping cart.

When I finish with the washing machine, I look for the clothes I moved. Some children are playing (they remind me of my niece and nephew, C and S – both are very fair skinned, brown hair, green/brown eyes 6 – 8 years old). The cart is gone and so are the clothes. I am very upset. They swear they didn’t touch them and don’t know where they are. I begin frantically looking for the cart as I am afraid that Mom will be mad because I moved the clothes.

I see a little girl (again reminds me of C) playing at a child’s vanity. I ask her again about the cart and clothes. I am very upset and she is getting upset and says she doesn’t know where they are. She seems to have put something under a white, circular cloth on the vanity.

I wake up hearing a voice calling out the names, Frank and Tina.

This piece was done freehand with crayons.
